Safety / Practice

BAM Services, LLC

Safety.

How BAM Services runs difficult ground safely: access before production, controls before rain, and a record the GC can hand to an inspector.

Why it matters here

Difficult ground is where the risk lives.

BAM is brought in for the slopes, corridors, and wet pads other crews decline. That is exactly the ground where a rollover, a washout, or a failed control becomes the schedule problem, and the incident report. Safety on this kind of work is not a poster; it is method selection, access, sequencing, and knowing when to stop.

A GC does not carry BAM's risk. That is the point of hiring the crew that takes this ground on purpose.

How BAM runs the work

01

Access is built before production starts

Steep, wet, and remote ground is where crews get hurt. BAM plans the route on and off the work (matting, temporary span, or tracked approach) before a machine is asked to hold a line on it.

02

The slope decides the method

If tracked or trucked equipment cannot hold the slope safely, the answer is a different method, aerial application or a re-sequenced approach, not a heavier push with the same machine.

03

Daily walk of the work

The crew walks the area before the shift and again at the end: controls, ruts, water, edges, and what changed since yesterday. Findings are corrected the same day or handed over in writing.

04

Weather is a schedule input

Rain is the risk on graded ground. Controls, stabilization, and crew exposure are sequenced against the forecast rather than against the calendar alone.

05

One point of accountability

The GC talks to the person responsible for the crew on that site. Escalation does not route through a call center.

06

Documented, not asserted

What was applied, where, and at what rate is recorded as the work happens so the safety and compliance story survives an audit.
